This year (Feb 2010) sees Wales’s FIRST regional pole dance competition! www.northwalespolecompetition.co.uk
The North Wales Pole Competition has been organised to give pole students and professionals of all abilities in North Wales an opportunity to compete in a local venue. All schools in the area have been invited to take part, and any individuals within the area independent of a school are also welcome to compete.
Sadly, Candy & Chrome will not be entering or attending this year (due to a slight case of child carriage!) but we felt compelled to do SOMETHING to contribute to this event, all in the name of a good cause, charity, and support for our local, neighbouring pole schools!
So we are proud to offer a cash donation to The North Wales Pole Competition’s chosen charity (Happy Faces Children’s charity), as well as sponsoring the show.
The North Wales Pole Competition is pleased to announce the one and only Sally-Ann Giles will be holding Masterclasses at the Break n Spin Dance Studio, Llandudno on the 21st Feb 2010.
Who is Sally-Ann Giles? Read Candy & Chrome’s Exclusive interview in the Pole Star’s section to find out! CLICK HERE.
There will be 2 classes:
A Dance and Spins class @12pm:Sally-Ann has a completely unique way of dancing and some amazing spins so here’s a chance to get some of that Sally-ann magic into your own routines. This class is suitable for students of all abilities
Tricks Class @ 2.30pm:Anyone who has ever seen Sally-Ann perform will be aware that this lady can perform some mean tricks. This class is for the more advanced student and you need to be able to invert confidently to participate in this class.
Each class will be approximately an hour and ½ – 2 hours long, and will cost £25 each. Please visit the North Wales Pole Competition’s website to book!

Good News for any Queensferry (or nearby) girls that are loking for a new gym deal….. (more…)
Waaaaay-Heyyy!
Welcome to 2010 everybody! Nice to see so many ladies gagging to get back on the pole! (Me too!).
Sooooo….. For the Chester ladies, we have a new venue to play in! And THIS one has floor to ceiling mirrors so we can all see just how damn good our moves are!
From now on, we will be polling at the very plush ‘Club Moativation’ at the Crowne Plaza in CHESTER, so it’s still nice and central, still has parking, still on a Thursdays.
Yes that’s right, Beginner’s class will be at the usual time of 6-7pm, every THURSDAY, and the Drop-In will be straight after it from 7-8pm.
The silver level course IS on the cards, however I am waiting for the weather to warm just a smidge as learning new moves, upside down, on a cold pole, in a cold room ….. IS HELL….and I don’t want all you excitable, motivated young things to have your chips royally wee’d on by not getting those tricks due to cold, slippery conditions. It would be a waste of money to boot. So Silver girls, PLEASE be patient, it will all come in good time, and in the meantime, come to the drop-in’s – you will be building up your strength, polishing up your moves and getting ready for the more difficult stuff….AND……it’s cheap! Just a FIVER for an hours practise.
The hot new place has a suprisingly reasonable membership fee if anyone in Chester is looking for a swanky new gym to join, and hopefully soon (not yet confirmed) Candy & Chrome students will be offered a special discount….because we are special people, so stay tuned for more on that.
