Burlesque Workshop in Chester with Rodney James

This is a video of his famous ‘Chair Challenge’ routine being taught at none other than Bobbi’s pole school Australia (most famous pole school in the WORLD!).
Who is Rodney James / Mr Burlesque?
Rodney James, choreographer and star of Burlesque Beat®, has performed internationally in all arena’s – stage, film and television. He concluded his career as a featured dancer in Baz Luhrmann’s feature film, Moulin Rouge, alongside Nicole Kidman and Ewen McGregor. After being invited to take part in the film’s promotional tour to NYC and the Cannes Film Festival, Rodney decided it was time to share his passion for dance by bringing the fitness benefits of dance into the pole schools and lounge rooms of millions.
Thanks to his extensive and successful international performance career and teaching experience, choreographer Rodney James has uncovered a formula for creating home fitness routines which are achievable, effective and above all fun.
His unique approach and formula creates an atmosphere where even the most timid are empowered to move more confidently than ever.
I first spoke to Rodney a couple of years ago, when he had just released ‘Burlesque Beat‘ and was developing his ‘Polesque’ formula. He wrote a guest article for my website explaining his concept of ‘Polesque’ which can be seen HERE.

My friend Robyn at 360 Pole Dancing Bristol held a Rodney workshop recently too and this is what they got up to ….
The workshop he is offering us is actually a double workshop, the ‘Chair Challenge’ is just the first half, the second half is a showgirls routine, designed to inspire and empower us to take our pole work to the next level – show routines!
How much is it?
The double workshop is a very reasonable £30 for 3 hours, and for the Diva himself, coming all the way from Australia, this is a once in a lifetime event!
I have only 15 places so as always, it will be first paid, first served.
When & Where is the workshop?
Candy & Chrome, The Dance Studio, The Crowne Plaza, Trinity Street, Chester
Sunday May 20th, 2:30pm-5:30pm.

Candy & Chrome School trip to Llandudno

Candy & Chrome will be attending the 2012 Annual All Wales pole Dance championships again and as usual – I hope to bring an army of Candy & Chrome girls with me to support the show and it’s contestants!
Come with us to the All Wales Pole Championships….
And see the best of pole dance that Wales have to offer!
I haven’t got confirmed times yet but it is usually late afternoon start (like 3/4pm ish) and finishes about 10pm ish – but then we usually pop to a bar in Llandudno to congratulate the girls with a swift cocktail.
I am happy to drive and can take 3 in my car, but I will need a couple more drivers probably.
If you are a passenger, please be considerate and offer your driver a couple of quid. We can meet at the Crowne Plaza in our pole room (at least we all know where that is!) and sort out who’s going in which cars on the night.
