FAQ

faq-350Health and Safety Rules:
No ‘Dutch Courage’
: we just don’t do it. If you’ve been drinking you’ll be asked to leave.
Don’t come to class with oils or lotions or fake tan on your skin. It will rub off on the pole and make it too slippery to safely work on.
Don’t teach unless you are qualified enough. Being helpful and supportive to your fellow students is fine, but to save injuries from a mis-taught trick, please leave the teaching to your instructor.
No ‘Diva-ing’: please don’t hog the pole!

Be warned: you are likely to suffer some minor injuries whilst learning any new sport. In pole dance, understand that you are putting your body under new strains and may result in bruises and pole burn. This will subside once your body gets used to being used in this way.
Be sensible: if you’re feeling frisky and want to invert (go upside-down) ask me to spot you. That’s an order!

Your Questions Answered…..

Do I need to be physically fit?

No. All kinds of people can benefit from pole dancing regardless of size/shape/tone. Good physical fitness is something we aim to work towards and not necessarily start off with!

Am I too old/young?
Unfortunately, I don’t teach under 18’s or over 65’s to pole dance.

What should I wear?
Shorts and vest top or t-shirt are best as skin contact with the pole helps you grip better. Trainers, ballet pumps and jazz shoes are the best footwear but for a real pole dance experience feel free to wear your sexiest heels!

What should I bring?
You might like to bring a towel (a small one), water and a camera. It’s ok to take a few snaps of you on the pole for the all important Face Book or Myspace cred of course! And take video’s of yourself to help with your training so you can see where your personal strengths and weaknesses are, but it is NOT ok to video the whole class.

I think I’m too big for it…..?
Please!
I don’t even want to get into how beautifully bigger girls can move while pole dancing!

How do I book a lesson?
Deposits must be paid in advance for all types of lessons, this is to secure your place because the groups taught are generally only quite small so spaces are limited. To pay your deposit, please use the Paypal button.

What happens if I miss a lesson?

If you miss a lesson, there are opportunities for you to be able to make it back up, so you don’t fall behind.  These are during the drop-in times, and will cost you £5.  This is because the room has to be paid for wether you turn up or not, this IS included in your course fee, but if you want to make up that lost lesson, that’s a second hour that needs paying for which is not covered.  So we charge £5 as a gesture towards covering that cost and wave the cost of our tuition time.
